Warning: Your Mom Can't Save Your Soul

Having a mom who goes to church is not grounds for salvation.

Maybe you even attended church as a child. You read the Word, you sang "Jesus Loves Me". But you never submitted your life to Christ.

Your mother might be Teresa, but she cannot save you. Sure, she prays for you. She hopes beyond hope.

But God gave us the ultimate gift: the gift of choice.

Yet to have the ability to choose, we must have the ability to choose wrong.

Don't allow yourself to be lulled into a false sense of security. That's the devil's hand. Your security comes from Christ and Christ alone. Politics cannot save you. Money cannot save you. Doing good deeds will not save you.

If you put your faith into anything but Christ, you will be disappointed. I guarantee it.

You are not Catholic by birth. You are not Nazarene by genetics.

Jesus is the gate (John 10:9).

You enter by Him, or you don't enter.

Remember carefully what John the Baptist said to the Pharisees:

Do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. Matthew 3:9

Now if even Abraham—a friend of God—cannot save his children, do you think your mom or dad can?

This is the bottom line:

Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved. Joel 2:32a

And no one can call on your behalf.
