Does God Really Have a Plan for Your Life?

[Limited time: Purchase Under the Sun and get three bonuses free! Read on for details.]

Do you ever wonder if God has a plan for your life?

You know so many people who seem to live life with a clear direction. They behave with a sense of purpose, with an unbelievably annoying amount of enthusiasm and optimism.

And dare you say it? They have the “c” word.

Calling.

These people know what they were made for, what they’re good at. They do it well. And they do it for God.

And you want that too.

You want to be that annoyingly optimistic person who sees the silver lining in every woe. Who jumps out of bed ready to tackle the next task in pursuit of a higher purpose.

You want a calling.

I want you to have that too. When you employ your unique gifts and strengths, the world is better off for it. That's why I wrote Under the Sun: Discover Your Calling and Live a Meaningful Life. I want to give you the foundation and tools you need to pursue a live worth living.

An excerpt from my first book, Do No Work, Beat Burnout God's Way gives you two steps for setting up healthy work boundaries as God intended.

How to Establish a Habit of Daily Quiet Time with God
Learn the exact steps I used to develop a daily habit of spending time in prayer and reading God's Word.

I've used and refined these techniques over the past five years. During that time I've only grown closer to God, and I don't regret a single second I've spent in study and prayer.

This guide will help you turn something you "should do" into something you do every day.

All three of these bonuses are yours when you purchase Under the Sun prior to December 28.

How do I get my bonus content?

Simply forward the email containing your receipt of purchase to andrew [at] andrewgilmore.net. We will not save or use your email for any purpose other than to verify your purchase and send you the free stuff.

That's great and all, but do I really have a unique calling?

Maybe you’re not sure if you even have a calling. Maybe God only picks special people for His special purposes, and the rest are left to wander through life feeling unfulfilled and ordinary.

God does have a plan for your life, and it is better than you could ever imagine. Jesus said he came that we might "have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10b). And 1 Peter 4:10 says each of us “has received a gift.” Therefore you are unique, and God wants you to embrace that uniqueness to live a fulfilling life. Your special abilities are gifts from God. But with those gifts comes the expectation that you use them.

Could you imagine if C. S. Lewis never picked up a pen? If Clapton never picked up a guitar?

The world would be worse off for it. And the same goes for you. You might never be famous, but God wants you right where you are executing on your unique subset of talents and experiences to be light in a dark world.

But maybe you’ve heard all of this before. Maybe you’re not convinced. You might be thinking, Why should I read yet another book about calling? And that’s a fair question.

The problem with many of these books about passion, calling, purpose, and vocation is that they fail to give you the proper foundation on which to build a life worth living. They ask you to consider your calling without first considering He who calls you.

In this omission they make the classic mistake of confusing purpose and calling, often using the terms interchangeably. Truth is, your calling is not your purpose. Your calling is simply your implementation of that purpose. Try to pursue the former without the latter and you’ll come to the same conclusion Solomon did, that everything is meaningless under the sun.

But place the Creator at the forefront of your life, and He will fulfill you. He will provide you meaning, and yes, He will reveal to you your calling. In this context you’ll live the best possible life, leveraging your strengths to become who God created you to be.

Doesn’t that excite you?

It excites me, which is why I wanted to write Under the Sun: Discover Your Calling and Live a Meaningful Life.

If you have struggled to identify your calling, or just simply want to make a difference in this cold hard world then this book is for you.
